On the road of the Nobile wine, between Montepulciano and Siena, you can spend healthy vacation at Il Greppo farm holidays. You will be able to taste typical foods, to taste good wines, in the apartments with swimming pool.

Open all year, "Il Greppo" consists of 10 apartments which accomodate from 2, to 8 people - with all facilities including a well-equipped swimming pool.
A country holiday suitable for those who want to relax in a peaceful and friendly Tuscan atmosphere in the open air.
The farmhouse "Il Greppo" is located south of Siena, in the Val di Chiana, within easy reach of towns of historical interest such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona etc.
This farmhouse, completely restored to a high standard, is set in the beautiful and unspoilt Tuscan countryside over looking surrounding hills with olive groves and vineyards

The proprietors, Romano and Lia, pensioned teachers, have thought organising courses in enviromantal education and plant studie, guided tours through part of Italy famous for their wines, such as "Nobile di Montepulciano" where the poet Francesco Redi said "Every wine is king" , also there are courses in cookery using the traditional wood-burning oven, and in confectionary using honey and jams, as well as oil and wine.
If the guest would like, they can take part in the work on the farm during the olive, harvesting period.


  Il Greppo a short distance from Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona, Assisi, Perugia, Siena, Arezzo, Monte Oliveto Maggiore is in ideal position for cultural visit, also guided tours to the numerous locations of artistic and historic interest.
Starting with San Biagio cathedral, a work of the architect Antonio da San Gallo Il Vecchio. A good balance of square volume on a map with the form of a greek cross, a resort with 2 bell towers on the 2 sides of the facade, similar to the project of San Pietro in Roma by Bramante.

Montepulciano, an ancient etruscan borough, has a strategic position between Valdichiana and Valdorcia valley, was for a long time contested between Siena and Firenze, the old city, the noisy noble buildings the cathedral and the council office in Piazza Grande, the Marzoccan colum in the Prato gate ( an obvious sign on the fiorentine conquest of the area ). All the wonders of the borough come out to create an atmosphere of times gone by, especially when public holidays are celebrated, for example the "Bravio delle botti" in Montepulciano, the Palio di Siena the 2nd july and the 16th august, the Bruscello, the Teatro Povero in Montichiello.
