One of the world's newest International Arts Festivals is set for success this summer.
The Tuscan Sun Festival , in only its second year takes place in Cortona, one of Italy's most beautiful Tuscan towns and makes a spectacular backdrop, to a feast of global talent. This year's festival plays host to some of the most acclaimed artists, including performances from the likes of Joshua Bell, the celebrated violinist, Evelyn Glennie, the first lady of percussion, Nina Kotova the rising star of the cello. Also appearing will be Dmitri Sitkovetsky, the esteemed violinist and conductor, Sarah Chang the violinist prodigy and the young singing sensation from Russia, Anna Netrebko. Bobby McFerrin the legendary singer, song- writer and conductor is also engaged to appear and this year's festival will achieve a major coup, with the appearance of Antonio Pappano and the chamber orchestra of the Royal Opera House of London, as resident orchestra.
The highlight of the Tuscan Sun festival will be a concert appearance from the world's number 1 soprano Renee Fleming.
This feast of musical talent will be accompanied by lectures in fine art and wine tasting and visitors will have the opportunity to observe celebrity chefs, as they demonstrate preparation of local Tuscan delicacies. If literature and film are your passion then the Literature conference hosted by the best selling author Frances Mayes will be speaking about her successful book and Hollywood film 'Under the Tuscan Sun', which is set in this beautiful town. With lots more on offer, there is no doubt that this festival will garner international interest from all quarters of the artistic world and the stage is set to propel this new comer to the top of global festival circuit.
